It's hard to be humble when you're a dancer.

TSSSSS.

"Based on experience..."

Hahaha. Pagbigyan. Paminsan lang yan. Kung hindi magets, 'wag pagpilitan. :))

Nobody tells us we can't dance.

Okay. It just sinked in to me now that the bandfest audition results are tomorrow. TOMORROW. Now I’m nervous. I have never been this nervous since any stage performance I’ve done. This is really something different. I don’t know why I feel nervous just now. It’s really weird. I clearly remember last year that I didn’t feel any form of nervousness when the results were out. Probably because I really didn’t expect BackStage to pass at any point since all of us kept saying, “Tss, okay lang kahit di makapasa this year, may next year pa!” We were all surprised when it was announced that we passed. It was such an amazing moment dancing on that stage. I didn’t even care that some people didn’t recognize us, I was too busy dancing my heart out. But it’s different this year, there’s no more next year for BackStage since Ate Angela, Ate Thea and Ate Ujie will be graduating this school year. Ugh, I don’t know why I feel all so dramatic right now. It’s kinda frustrating actually since I can’t do my SWE properly. :|

It’s also frustrating to feel when people don’t expect you to pass simply because they think you can’t dance. Excuse me but we aren’t those kinds of dance groups who pay other people to choreograph their dance. Groups like that don’t really have the natural ability to dance. Those kinds of groups try to dance since they had to pay other people just to make a dance for them. God! That isn’t practical. If you’re a true-blooded dancer, you can choreograph a dance in a jiff. A lot of people don’t expect us to pass simply because we’re ballet dancers. It actually hurts when people think of it that way. I just know that we aren’t on your “groups that will pass for bandfest” list. We don’t plan to be on your list anyway. :P I actually appreciate the IV6 class since they support our group whole-heartedly. They give out comments that will help us improve our dance. I love their supportiveness on Ate Angela. I haven’t seen anyone (from STC) who supports BackStage like them Oh well, that’s about it. I have to finish my SWE and study for my LQ in SocSci. Before I leave though, I would love to share our dance group profile. It was made by Ate Angela and I thought the profile was great.

In life as a ballerina: grace glides with blistered feet. If you think ballet is easy, think again. For Inna, Marla, Ciara, Eunice, Angela, Thea, Natalie and Janine have proven this wrong. Ballet is not just about wearing fancy tutus, applying make-up and putting hair in a bun. Ballet is an endless journey of learning experiences, determination, passion and of course pain.

Passion and love, desire to share and longing for more pain brought about Backstage. It was Marla's idea to form a group among year IV students of Radaic School of Classical Ballet to perform in the bandfest. Who knew that the fusion of these dancers that was once a dream became a reality?

Why Backstage? Well it was from the mistake of their teacher in modern dance class, teacher Ron. He thought that the title of the movie “Center Stage” as “Backstage”! All were hilarious but then thought it was a good name for the group.

Now, move, sway, shake and groove with Backstage as they do it big, do it right and do it with style.
